Overview

AI Budget Assistant offers three subscription tiers. Every new user starts on the Free plan with full access to core expense tracking features.

Plans Comparison

Plans differ in usage limits and in access to advanced AI features:

All users (including Free) have: expense tracking, AI Chat, Voice Input, Receipt Scanning, anomaly detection, PDF/Excel reports, weekly email reports, monthly digest, encrypted backups, and all currencies. Spending Stories, Fat Finder, and AI Insights require Pro or Business.

Free Plan

Your starting plan includes: - 50 AI requests per month - 3 personal accounts - 1 member (you) - Core features — expense tracking, AI Chat, voice input, receipt scanning (advanced AI features require Pro)

Pro Plan

Everything in Free, with higher limits: - 300 AI requests per month - Up to 5 accounts — manage personal, shared, and business finances - Up to 5 members per account — collaborate with family or team - Advanced AI features — Spending Story, Fat Finder, and AI Insights

7-Day Free Trial

Try Pro free for 7 days. Cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid charges.

Business Plan

Everything in Pro, with no limits: - Unlimited AI requests - Unlimited accounts - Unlimited members

AI Usage

Track your AI usage from Settings > Manage Plan:

• Usage This Month — shows how many AI requests you’ve used (e.g., “3 of 50”)
• Progress bar — visual indicator of usage
• Resets at the beginning of each month
• AI usage badge — a compact counter (e.g., “12/50 AI”) is shown on all AI-powered screens: AI Chat, Spending Story, Fat Finder, Analytics (AI Insights), and Investment Insights. Tap it to view your subscription.

First-use confirmation

When you use an expensive AI feature (Spending Story, Fat Finder, AI Insights, Investment Insights) for the first time, the app shows a confirmation dialog with the cost and your remaining balance. You can choose “Don’t ask again” to skip future confirmations for that feature.

Usage Details

Tap View Details on the subscription screen to see a detailed breakdown of your AI usage:

• Total used — total AI requests consumed this month
• By feature — breakdown showing how many requests each feature used (AI Chat, Voice Input, Receipt Scan, Spending Story, Fat Finder, etc.)
• History — chronological log of every AI request with date, time, and cost
• Month navigation — browse usage for previous months

What counts as an AI request:

• Sending a message in AI Chat (1 request)
• Using Voice Input to add an expense (1 request)
• Scanning a Receipt (2 requests)
• Generating a Spending Story (3 requests)
• Running Fat Finder (3 requests)
• Getting AI Insights in Analytics (2 requests)
• Investment Insights (2.5 requests)

Managing Your Subscription

1. Go to Settings > Manage Plan
2. View your current plan and status
3. Tap Upgrade to switch to Pro or Business
4. View available plans and pricing

FAQ

• Q: What happens when I run out of AI requests? A: When you hit your monthly limit in AI Chat, an upgrade screen appears right in the chat, showing the Pro plans and a 7-day free trial. You can start the trial or upgrade for more requests, or simply wait until your limit resets at the start of next month.

• Q: Can I downgrade from Pro to Free? A: Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You’ll retain Pro features until the end of your billing period.

• Q: Is there a yearly plan option? A: Pricing options are shown in the Manage Plan screen within the app.
